FOOD PANTRY JULY 2023-JUNE 2024 – By The Numbers, From Marcia Wheat
This year, the Aldersgate Food Pantry has seen the largest number of clients and bags given out ever! The next closest year was 2018. This past year, 1,428 regular bags given out, plus 102 for Thanksgiving/ Christmas. A total of 1,530 Bags were distributed! July 2024 we gave out 175 bags!
We had 540 clients, and a total of 1664 family members were served!
Of those we served, 42% were children, 20% adults over 60, 39% other adults. Most of our clients have family sizes between 1-4 and 48% of our clients only come 1 time in a year. 45% of our clients live in zip codes 36116 or 36117. Out of our clients, 44% are male, and 56% are female. 98% live in Montgomery County.
Shopping for all the food included 36 trips to Heart of Alabama Food Bank, 9 trips to Midwest Food Bank Distribution Site in Wetumpka, over 50 trips to Walmart and over 50 Dollar Tree runs.
Finally, none of this would be possible without YOUR generous contributions and the many volunteers. Every Tuesday 2 or 3 of the following have shown up: Donna Alexander, Nancy Bull, Jim Conkle, Olivia Conkle, Sharon Demuth, Sherry McCall, Meigs Roberts, Carole Smith, Robert Thompson, Jean Tribble, Ronnie Wakins, Lynn and Mitzi Whittington. Jimbo Barrett and Peggy Massey helped with pickup and unloading.

Dear Church Family,
GOD IS AWARE!!!
Exercising His Eternal Wisdom and Creative Genius, God ‘authored’ you, and God ‘authored’ me. Our stories continue to be written throughout our lives. When any Body of Christ that God has drawn together follows His lead in faith, every inborn gift and ability is multiplied as He calls, equips, and enables us to do His Kingdom work. Each person is a work of wonder, valued, and vital to our shared faith journey.
YOU ARE AMAZING! Having answered God’s call countless times as you have offered your presence to the work of Christ’s Body, the church, His Kingdom Work has gone forward. Matthew 18:20 offers, “Where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them.” What a promise! This is where God ‘multiplies’ our efforts, dwelling among us as we gather. This includes ANY activity or ministry such as small groups, preparing and sharing meals, Sunday school, worship, committees, music ministry, prayer, phone calls, etc. There is a richness of fellowship surrounding these gatherings that is unique to functioning within ‘the Body’ that is rarely available in secular settings. This life-giving encouragement naturally nurtures everyone.
YOUR PRESENCE IS PRECIOUS to this process! This includes those present in person as well as in Spirit.
Thanks to each and every one who serves so well, enhancing my faith journey along with that of so many others. I am filled with anticipation for the future and the continued guidance of God!
