From Marcus Wittig in Medelin, Colombia:

Andrew Stein played basketball for Cedarville University in OH, and then went on to be the assistant coach at Lewis-Clark State College.  On the invitation of a Columbian friend (one of our lads who we sent to the States for a high school exchange), he came to Columbia on a mission team.  Learning that he was a basketball player and coach, I spoke with him about our dream of having a basketball program alongside our soccer...

Hey Everyone,

Thank you all for praying.  We have a few prayer requests.  First, today we took our son to the doctor as he has had some swelling in his lower abdomen.  They found that he has a cyst which would have developed pre-birth.  He has to have surgery to have it removed.  We have him scheduled for surgery the day after we get home from our conference.  Please pray for our son and pray that God would remove this cyst to where he does not need surgery...

Hey everyone,

I hope you are doing well!  My wife and I wanted to share a couple prayer requests and needs that we have.  I have been serving in national leadership for the last year, and in June was asked to step into the role of national leader, representing our country to our greater mission.  Please pray for this.  This will also mean that I will be traveling more to regional and global leadership meetings, such as one in the Philippines the beginning of September.  All staff with our organization are fully dependent on support, and so we are needing to raise our monthly support.  Would you prayerfully consider partnering with us monthly?

Hey everyone,

We got back on Saturday from our staff conference.  We had 105 (including children) come!  It was a really challenging time for all of us, and God really spoke to many. Our speakers spoke about building an apostolic community, healthy relationships, healthy communication, conflict resolution, and ministering out of our brokenness.  Thank you all for praying!

Hey everyone,

Thank you for praying for us!  Last week, we had a great trip.  It was so great to see so many old friends from various nations in our region.  It was also great to hear that the young believers we brought were all so encouraged.  Please continue to pray for our local leaders, especially our newer, younger leaders, that God would continue to raise them up to lead our next generation.

Report from Mark Wittig, Christian Union Sports Club, a sports ministry in Colombia, South America.

Cosdecol, Columbia is a ministry born in Medellin in the late 1980’s, around the time that everything came unglued in Medellin, as the government tried to close down the Medellin drug cartel.  The cartel reacted by training and hiring thousands of young men to be their hitmen.  Cosdecol provided an escape from the gang life that many young people were falling into.  Instead, it provided them with an outlet to play soccer competitively and also learn about God. This ministry has been successful in providing a way for many young men in Columbia to avoid a life of crime, to do something productive with their lives and to become followers of Jesus Christ.

Hello everyone, Thank you so much for your prayers and partnership.

The past couple weeks we have had the great opportunity of having some new people join our fellowship.  One of the men that came last week is a very conservative Muslim.  I shared that morning and spoke on the difference between religion and the way of Jesus.  It was a great time, and he seemed to be impacted by Jesus washing the disciples' feet.
